The idea for our project matured in 2023. We noticed that the divisions in our society were growing. That different groups were interacting less and less with each other. That in some places there was even a lack of communication. And yet we had so much to talk about. The increasing radicalism, which manifests itself in acts of violence as well as in language, has its causes. What are they? What does it do to people? Don't we all, no matter how old we are or where we come from, just want to finally arrive in life? These were the considerations and starting point for our project:

The search for partners began a good year ago. The core team was formed at the beginning of this year (2024) and started work. The team includes Michael, Stefanie, Thomas and me, Pia. We honed the concept, sought additional partners to broaden our project, and finally summarized the essentials in a one-pager, i.e. on one page, so that everyone who wants to participate can quickly find out more. The idea is to get as many people as possible on board. In this way, the idea of #endlichankommen can spread further and further among the circles of those involved. In addition to many people from Würzburg, these include the Mainfrankentheater, the Museum am Dom, the city library, the Museum im Kulturspeicher, the Quartiersmanagement Heuchelhof, the Initiative Blickpunkt, a women's group to empower and make visible women from different cultures, the Verein “Mrija” from Grombühl to support Ukraine, and many more, a senior citizens' home, youth facilities... You are invited to get in touch and join us!

We work on a voluntary basis. However, the project components, which you can read more about in the next blog post and continuously in the calendar, also cost money in some cases. Therefore, we had to submit funding applications to Demokratie leben Würzburg and the Sparkassenstiftung für die Stadt Würzburg. It was a great pleasure for us that both funding agencies found our plans worthy of support and provided funding. Thank you for that!!!

Now we could start with the further work for the implementation. It is going to be exciting...
