Ulrich

Ulrich is 67 years old, was born in Gliwice in Upper Silesia, and has been living in Würzburg for over three decades. His childhood was shaped by music, nature, and a dining table where lunch often lasted until seven in the evening: talking, listening, discussing, learning. “Home was warmth and exchange,” he says. This image of community has stayed with him to this day.

As a musician and educator, Ulrich has experienced a lot and crossed many boundaries – both geographical and internal. Today, he lives as a retiree in Lengfeld and enjoys the peace and quiet. At the same time, he keeps a close eye on society and politics. He feels that citizens are often underestimated: “People are much more informed than they are given credit for.” When politicians don't take people seriously, he has his doubts – especially about whether the common good is really the focus.

Nevertheless, Ulrich is not a person of resignation. For him, hope is the prerequisite for change to take place at all. Without hope, he says, there is no drive – neither in personal life nor in society. He wants more respect, more balance between giving and taking, and a future in which Europe moves closer together and our society finds more peace and stability again.

Das Projekt
in aller Kürze

Jeder Mensch - egal wie alt, egal woher - will irgendwann endlich ankommen.
