Peter and Lotte

Peter is 72, was born in Berngau, and has lived in Würzburg for over five decades. He spent his childhood with his grandparents—a time that shaped him and gave him a strong sense of home. Today, he enjoys living in the small city, where everything is close and familiar, and where he almost always meets someone for a quick chat when walking through town.

Peter does not view the world without concern. Personally, he has learned to accept misfortunes and to encourage himself. “There's no such thing as giving up,” he says. His greatest source of strength is himself – and his dog Lotte, who accompanies him every day. Socially, he is troubled by political developments: the shift to the right, populism, the language patterns that even democratic parties are adopting. “We need respect – and for people to listen again.”

For him, home means familiarity and cultural connection; home is his own realm, where he feels comfortable. At the same time, however, he also sees that Würzburg has room for improvement: less stagnation at construction sites, more well-designed spaces, more greenery. His hope for society is a politics that works with each other instead of against each other—and a social climate that puts solidarity above selfishness.

“More cooperation instead of confrontation” – that is Peter's wish. For the near future, he personally wishes above all for good health and a good time with his dog Lotte.

Das Projekt
in aller Kürze

Jeder Mensch - egal wie alt, egal woher - will irgendwann endlich ankommen.
