Dahir

Thirty-nine-year-old Dahir has been living in Würzburg for three and a half years. Listening to him talk, you quickly realize how closely the stories from his home country of Somalia and his experiences in Germany are intertwined.

In Somalia, life was anything but easy for Dahir. War and poverty shaped his childhood. Most of his family still lives there. “In Somalia, there isn't much – few jobs, few rights,” says Dahir.

“Germany is a good country. I feel comfortable here,” he explains. He works hard. Dahir still struggles a bit with the German language. But he knows he is on the right track. ‘Language is important to work and to be part of society,’ he states.

His biggest fear? World War III. But he also has hopes. What are these? Just tune in.

Das Projekt
in aller Kürze

Jeder Mensch - egal wie alt, egal woher - will irgendwann endlich ankommen.
